A Tour de France - One Day Course
Join us for a one-day wine tasting tour of France's classic wine regions - from Burgundy to Bordeaux!
France is one of the largest producers of wine in the world and home to many of the world’s most popular grape varieties (chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, merlot, cabernet sauvignon etc.) It’s almost impossible to conjure up any thought of French culture without thinking about wine, and France is considered by many to be the home of wine. It’s arguably the fine wine capital of the world with the iconic wines of Champagne, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Alsace, Loire and the Rhone… and IT’S RIGHT ON OUR DOORSTEP!
Over this fascinating and fun hands-on day, you’ll learn about an ancient viticultural history that stretches back many hundreds of years, taking in tales and tastes from all the major wine regions and experiencing a myriad of different wine styles along the way. We’ll consider the culture and identity of each region, the key wine grapes, climate, production methods, wine laws and local cuisine as well as discovering suitable food pairings as we go. and includes a delicious two-course lunch.
The course is delivered in a relaxed but informed and inspirational manner by an experienced professional, with an emphasis on group discussion and hands-on wine tasting experience. It would be helpful to have a basic understanding of wine and production processes etc. but this is not essential as we maintain small class sizes to allow for individual questions along the way.
A delicious two-course lunch in the acclaimed Koffman & Mr White’s Brasserie is provided with this course, and to help put the wines in the context of French cuisine we'll sample some delicious French cheese, charcuterie and other nibbles throughout the day to complement a few of the wines... we guarantee that you won't leave this course feeling hungry!
This is an essential course for any wine lover hoping to get a handle on the classic wines of the world, so book your place today to further your knowledge in a relaxed and friendly environment and equip yourself with the tools to navigate your way around the beautiful and ancient wines of France.
